The following modifications will be made during the next refit:
Balstara has mushroom vents over the heads and the saloon. Water droplets can emerge from these if the deck is submerged (i.e. waves break over the boat). Inserts are available which will allow either the passage of air or make the ventilators totally watertight. Fitment is scheduled for the next refit. Report on ease of fitting and effectiveness in due course.
After sliding across a slippery greasy saloon floor whilst the boat is steeply heeled the time has come to fit a galley retaining strap.
Increase of domestic battery capacity - from one to two 105 ah batteries.
Fitment of voltage meters, advanced regulator - for 'smart charging', and
construction of new battery box.
Fitment of RORC latch - to enable main hatch to opened and shut from inside or outside the boat. This will require the making up of new wash boards as the latch needs to be mounted coincides with the cut out for the vent in the existing top board.
